Pour le secteur de l\u2019\u00e9clairage, le potentiel d\u2019\u00e9conomies d\u2019\u00e9nergies offert par la r\u00e9novation des \u00e9clairages trop anciens, permettrait d\u2019\u00e9conomiser l\u2019\u00e9quivalent de la production de Fessenheim, et m\u00eame davantage. En 2013 la consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9clairage en France \u00e9tait de 56 TWh (source : ADEME). Cela inclut l\u2019\u00e9clairage des b\u00e2timents r\u00e9sidentiels et non r\u00e9sidentiels, ainsi que l\u2019\u00e9clairage ext\u00e9rieur (dont l\u2019\u00e9clairage public). Les installations d\u2019\u00e9clairage obsol\u00e8tes et \u00e9nergivores offrent un potentiel d\u2019\u00e9conomie d\u2019\u00e9nergie de 40 \u00e0 80 %, selon leur nature et selon les applications. Un sc\u00e9nario prudent, tenant compte des r\u00e9novations d\u00e9j\u00e0 effectu\u00e9es les derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, peut retenir la valeur de 40 % d\u2019\u00e9conomies : ce sont donc environ 22 TWh qu\u2019il est possible d\u2019\u00e9conomiser simplement, sans d\u00e9grader l\u2019\u00e9clairage, voire en l\u2019am\u00e9liorant. Pourtant, le rythme des r\u00e9novations de d\u00e9colle pas : le nombre d\u2019installations r\u00e9nov\u00e9es chaque ann\u00e9e reste faible, et les \u00e9conomies g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es bien inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 ce qu\u2019elles pourraient \u00eatre.
