Offert \u00e0 la France en 1830 et \u00e9rig\u00e9 en 1836, ce monolithe de granite rose, t\u00e9moin de trois mill\u00e9naires d\u2019histoire, est le plus ancien monument de Paris. Ce chantier de six mois, d\u2019une pr\u00e9cision remarquable, est men\u00e9 sous ma\u00eetrise d\u2019ouvrage de la DRAC, \u00e0 l\u2019initiative du comit\u00e9 Hi\u00e9roglyphes et du d\u00e9partement des Antiquit\u00e9s \u00e9gyptiennes du mus\u00e9e du Louvre, avec le m\u00e9c\u00e9nat de comp\u00e9tences de K\u00e4rcher. La DRAC vient de publier \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019Ob\u00e9lisque de Louxor et sa restauration\u00a0\u00bb aux \u00c9ditions Lieux Dits. Ce livre raconte comment le plus ancien monument de la capitale a retrouv\u00e9 son \u00e9clat d\u2019antan. Restaurateurs, scientifiques et sp\u00e9cialistes du patrimoine ont uni leurs savoir-faire pour redonner vie au g\u00e9ant de granite.
