L’Institut national de l’information g\u00e9ographique et foresti\u00e8re (IGN) vient de publier le m\u00e9mento 2012 La for\u00eat en chiffres et en cartes<\/i>. Le document rassemble les principaux chiffres, cartes et informations sur la for\u00eat en France m\u00e9tropolitaine. Destin\u00e9 \u00e0 toute personne s’int\u00e9ressant \u00e0 la for\u00eat, cet ouvrage richement illustr\u00e9 donne les principales informations sur la for\u00eat fran\u00e7aise sous une forme simple et synth\u00e9tique de 28 pages. R\u00e9sultat des campagnes annuelles d’inventaire men\u00e9es de 2007 \u00e0 2011 par les agents de l’IGN sur le terrain, cette publication r\u00e9v\u00e8le la surface foresti\u00e8re et son \u00e9volution, le taux de boisement par d\u00e9partement et par sylvo\u00e9cor\u00e9gion, la composition et la diversit\u00e9 des peuplements forestiers. Certains des r\u00e9sultats sont r\u00e9partis par essence et classe de propri\u00e9t\u00e9.
