Ag\u00e9 de 57 ans, cet ing\u00e9nieur des Ponts et Chauss\u00e9es a int\u00e9gr\u00e9 le CSTB en 1978, o\u00f9 il a travaill\u00e9 sur les possibilit\u00e9s de stockage de chaleur solaire pour les b\u00e2timents, sur les techniques de mod\u00e9lisation et de simulation num\u00e9rique de l\u0092\u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du b\u00e2timent, sur la robotique&#8230; Charg\u00e9 de la direction de l\u0092\u00e9tablissement du CSTB de Sophia Antipolis en 1994, puis responsable de l\u0092activit\u00e9 Diffusion des Connaissances, il devient directeur du CSTB en 2001.
