Pour la troisi\u00e8me tranche de la centrale nucl\u00e9aire de Flamanville, dans la Manche, en cours de construction depuis plus d’un an, EDF, ma\u00eetre d’ouvrage et exploitant, a choisi l’agence d’architecture Bridot Willerval. Cette derni\u00e8re a su proposer une architecture contemporaine, coh\u00e9rente avec celle des premi\u00e8res tranches, tout en veillant \u00e0 l’int\u00e9gration \u00e0 l’environnement. Situ\u00e9 sur la c\u00f4te ouest de la p\u00e9ninsule du Cotentin, au pied d’une falaise granitique haute de 70 m et au bord de la mer, le projet propos\u00e9 par Bruno Willerval repose donc sur une conception simple, puissante, avec un alignement r\u00e9gulier des b\u00e2timents \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 imm\u00e9diate de la falaise, uniquement visible depuis la mer. Le choix des teintes et mati\u00e8res a fait l’objet d’une \u00e9tude colorim\u00e9trique de la nature environnante. Ainsi, est n\u00e9 le concept architectural, bas\u00e9 sur cette couleur appliqu\u00e9e \u00e0 l’ensemble des b\u00e2timents c\u00f4t\u00e9 mer, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un bardage en aluminium de couleur brun fonc\u00e9, de type Kalzip, int\u00e9grant des stries verticales tous les 40 cm. L’il\u00f4t nucl\u00e9aire a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u en b\u00e9ton de couleur grise identique aux falaises de granit. Seuls les trois volumes du b\u00e2timent de bureaux POE (P\u00f4le Op\u00e9rationnel d’Exploitation), tout comme la station de pompage situ\u00e9e \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9, disposeront d’une fa\u00e7ade particuli\u00e8re en b\u00e9ton architectonique de couleur blanc cass\u00e9 ou gris clair. Enfin, l’entr\u00e9e principale du b\u00e2timent de bureaux s’effectuera sur la fa\u00e7ade oppos\u00e9e \u00e0 la mer.
