Fond\u00e9e en 1111, l’abbaye de Fontdouce, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 St Bris des Bois en Charente-Maritime entre Cognac et Saintes, conna\u00eet son apog\u00e9e du XIIIe au XIVe si\u00e8cles et elle compte alors dans la liste de ses abb\u00e9s Jehan II de M\u00e9dicis, futur pape L\u00e9on X. Apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 des p\u00e9riodes destructrices, surtout les Guerres de Religion, et suite \u00e0 sa fermeture d\u00e9finitive \u00e0 la R\u00e9volution fran\u00e7aise, elle est rachet\u00e9e comme Bien National par la famille Boutinet en 1799, pour servir d’exploitation agricole avec une dominante viticole. Le site, devenu une simple ferme, est ensuite transmis de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration en g\u00e9n\u00e9ration sans jamais quitter la famille Boutinet. Son festival, int\u00e9gr\u00e9 ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es aux 17 manifestations promues par le Conseil G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Charente-Maritime, attire les foules. Cette affirmation culturelle et touristique est le r\u00e9sultat de l’investissement de G\u00e9rard et Jean-Pierre Boutinet qui ont men\u00e9, \u00e0 partir de 1970, la restauration continue de cet \u00e9difice m\u00e9di\u00e9val.\u000b\u000b1970 – 2010 : 40 ans de passion patrimoniale au service d’un grand ensemble architectural m\u00e9di\u00e9val class\u00e9.
