La mol\u00e9cule produite, CO, est une brique de base essentielle de l\u2019industrie chimique et un interm\u00e9diaire clef pour la production de produits plus r\u00e9duits comme le m\u00e9thanol ou le m\u00e9thane, deux carburants.<\/p>\n<p>Si la plupart des processus connus pour ce faire utilisent des catalyseurs bas\u00e9s sur des m\u00e9taux rares et pr\u00e9cieux, les chercheurs ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 mettre au point un syst\u00e8me catalytique employant exclusivement des \u00e9l\u00e9ments abondants. D\u2019une part du fer, le m\u00e9tal le plus abondant et le moins co\u00fbteux au monde, et d\u2019autre part un mat\u00e9riau tr\u00e8s bon march\u00e9 et facile \u00e0 pr\u00e9parer pour absorber la lumi\u00e8re comprenant du carbone et de l\u2019azote. Ce processus catalytique fonctionne de plus \u00e0 pression et temp\u00e9rature ambiantes. Ces r\u00e9sultats ouvrent une nouvelle voie vers la production de \u00ab carburant solaire \u00bb en utilisant le CO2 comme mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re
